We’ve been working on the video for the Banker Gambling Addiction guerilla theater we did last week, and will be doing the voiceovers soon.
Site Issues
Vandalism on the tents, 2 kids (10-year olds) busted into every tent and cut them up. We caught them when they came back to get their keys they lost in a tent! They’d been around during the winter. They shot off the fire extinguisher. We have a witness from a nearby building who also called the police. We all agreed to have them arrested. The police took them to their parents house and came back and asked if we’d accept restitution, which we agreed to. If they don’t follow through we have a year to put warrants on them. They’ll be charged with criminal mischief and trespassing. We’re waiting to hear from their parents. If you find an extra set of keys around the site…
The bomb scare, we evacuated the site from 12 to 6 yesterday. It was just a suitcase of somebody’s clothes the police blew up with a robot!
We loaned the command tent to VVAW/OSS (the ones who returned their medals at Chicago) after visiting the VFW in Port Penn to see if they wanted it. It turns out they don’t want the tent and the VVAW/OSS will use it for the National Gathering. July 2 and 3 will be actions and events at the NG. They may be interested in keeping the tent. We can all get together on a day to go.
Would we need it in the future? It’s a good tent. Temperature check on having them bring it back…most people want to get it back. As of now they’ll return it on the 5th.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
At Pacem in Terris board meeting tonight we had the ACLU person in charge of repealing the death penalty in Delaware. They’re doing outreach and education right now, not pressing candidates for soundbites. Laura has cards, Web site: www.derepeal.org.

We were going to work on the NG topics but we didn’t get it together for the meeting. But we should talk about a day we all could go to NG together. July 4? Anyone planning to stay overnight at NG? Maybe on the 2nd or the 3rd.
Proposal Idea:
Since we are missing the command tent we need to get more signs up front. Tie them to stabilized trash cans. We have money for contingency issues, should we use it for this? We have $100 in that fund left. We have some plywood already. Twinkle fingers…Contact Dassi with ideas for a “special” sign for the mayor, get your creative juices going.
They have settled on a day for the Women’s March on DC, Aug. 18. So let’s make our vagina signs and shirts and go down! http://www.wearewoman.us/
