10-MINUTE DISCUSSION
Suggested topics:
1) What to do after August 1 with the stuff at the site when people aren’t here overnight.
2) Discuss ways to raise money
We chose number 1.
The issue is that August 1 there won’t be people on site full time. But one of us can be here over night during August, most nights. Cut back on that a little bit in September.
I can be here, it’ll depend on the weather. I can’t sleep in the tents when it’s too hot.
We’re supposed be wrapping it up around September 7. It sounds like we may need a plan to do something for leaving, a big event. Moving the exit date up?
I don’t want to spend, with all due respect, a lot more time on the site, I’ve already been involved in a lot of site issues and I’d like to put my energy into something else. If the site will be vacant it’s time to leave, and we should have a big celebration. August 5 is our 9-month-iversary. I propose we have a big party to celebrate all the wonderful, good work we’ve done.
We’ve said all along not to have anything in your tents that you don’t want to lose. It’s a good idea to not expect anyone else to be responsible for your stuff. We’ll have birthed this baby and now it’s time to raise it.
We need to come up with another kind of pamphlet to let people know we’re still active and how to get involved.
A couple of people have said that they’ll come and stay here, but not 24/7.
It would be an opportunity to bring back some of the diaspora. Can we do a PA system? Yes, we can do that.
It’s a bad idea to try to hang on by a thread. Instead put our energy into a celebration. If people wanted to occupy they’d've been here already. We can get that pamphlet together quick.
I agree, we should have a party and go out with a bang. A bankster pinata. Let’s plan the shindig instead of watches.
What should the next step be for making a decision? Temperature check for going ahead with planning?
In favor of winding down the site on August 5 and having a celebration on August 5. General twinkle fingers all around. So we’ll start planning.

Actions
We were discussing a couple actions on Saturday’s GA.
At today’s Wilmington Rally we had the return of the doll-head guy. A head hanging out the driver side window! The rally is still a good awareness generator.
Our chalking chalks are still visible out there. Except for the ones on the balls in front of the courthouse!
Media
Based on last week’s discussion we met after last week’s GA and find out who’s still involved in the Media committee. So we’re doing that. Then we’ll get together. So far we have 9 responses to the affirmative.
We finished the Move-Your-Money brochure [http://www.occupyde.org/2012/07/move-your-money-brochure/] and it’s up on the Web site. So take them on bank and chalking actions.
Facebook page is still hijacked. Anonymous offered help to get it back, and as far as we know they’re working on it. Otherwise we know nothing.
The Media committee will meet after the GA to work on this.
Outreach
Last Thursday 32SEIU rally for the people fired and half rehired at less money and nonunion. We were acknowledged at the rally, they appreciated us being there. They’re going to have more of these rallies and we can keep a presence there. Show up and lend support, connect with, allied organizations and actions.
Let’s remember to invite them to our party. We’ll invite everybody.

We did have a donation of $100, which was spent on a new hot spot. We have about $500 in the bank.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
We were discussing a chalking action at the mayor’s house, then disperse through the city, getting pictures. Or we could end up at his house.
Also we could have a GA at the Christiana Mall. We’d have to be actually eating.
We went to Market Days, in Rodney Square, today and set up with posters, flyers, and were chalking and were approached by Downtown Visions, we’re providing employment for their power-washer guy. We’ll continue to discuss this in the Actions meeting.
It looks like the date will be August 17 in front of the libray, 10th and King, veggie/fruit give-away.
WeAreWoman, for August 18, Washington DC. There are still 37 spots left. $20 round-trip!
This Saturday, the 28th, Stop the Frack Attack rally, 2 pm, Washington, DC, west lawn of the Capitol. There will be carpooling, see Laura.
An idea to mull, August 6, Meet the Mayoral Candidates at the church 9th and Broom. We should occupy it and ask pointed questions.
I would like to propose that all of the committees that are here tonight meet after the GA, and that we do this after every GA. 10-15 minutes. A way for people to know what committees there are and to keep committees active.
This is the hugest BoA office I have ever seen in my life, in Wilmington….
