August Quarterly – Prayer Service & Wreath Laying Honoring Rev. Peter Spencer

There will be a prayer service & wreath laying honoring Rev. Peter Spencer on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm in Peter Spencer Plaza, on French Street. between 8th & 9th Streets in Wilmington, DE as part of the AUGUST QUARTERLY.

The Rev. Peter Spencer was the founder of the first independent black Christian Church in the United States, the A.U.M.P. Church in Wilmington,Delaware, which is still in existence today.

Peter Spencer Plaza is the former site of the Church he founded and there is a memorial in his memory there.It is also where the protest camp of Occupy Delaware was located for 9 months.
