Occupy Delaware members will be joining Sierra Club members on August 25th from 1-5pm to discourage UD students from using PNC Bank (UD’s bank of choice). We will be handing out flyers highlighting PNC’s dirty secret that they are the 2nd largest financier of Mountaintop Removal coal mining in the U.S. Learn more. Additionally, we plan on educating consumers about the importance of banking locally. Learn more.

The goals of this action are to encourage incoming UD students to not open an account with PNC Bank, get existing account holders to close their accounts and to raise awareness about mountaintop removal coal mining.

We will be meeting in front of the Trabant Center, which is located at the corner of S. College Ave and Main St. in Newark on August 25th from 1pm – 5pm.
